Ten strikers Linked to Liverpool for January Transfer Window

Posted by TR On 23:15 No comments

With a struggling start in the Premier League so far, Brendan will try his best to bring a new finisher at Anfeild. And also the injury of Borini during the International break will even make it more clear on this matter. Liverpool has played a better game as a whole but everyone has been about a good finisher for Liverpool which will improve their scoring options. The most likely scorer left in the team for now is Suarez and Gerrard. With the likes of Kuyt, Rodriguez, Bellamy etc Liverpool don't have many goal scorer. So it will a happy event for the fans as well as the Club If Liverpool manage to find a good finisher inthe January transfers. Here is a list of ten strikers linked to Anfeild.

>>>>  Burak Yilmaz, Galatasaray, Age 27, Turkish:
Yilmaz was reportedly the subject of interest from West Ham and Tottenham while at previous club Trabzonspor last season, but he instead opted to join Turkish champions Galatasaray. scored 33 goals last term, has enjoyed a flying start to life at his new club, having bagged five goals in six league appearances.
    Player Value: £13 million.
Considering the age and price, this deal is not likely to happen. He may fit in the Rodger's style with his scoring abilities but a £13 million is unlikely amount Liverpool would pay for. But there will be few big clubs who can give him a starting XI chances other Liverpool. So it will be tempting for the player. At last, if Liverpool can pay pay the fee, the deal is a 80% chance of happening.

>>>> Son Heung-min, Hamburg Age 20 South Korean:

The 20-year-old has started the season well with the Bundesliga outfit and can play either on the wing or up front.netting four goals in seven matches thus far and the 20 year old has begun to attract the attention of a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’.Joined Hamburg in 2008, Contracts end next summer, contract still not extended, rumors of contract extension with double the pay.
   Player Value :£5.2 million.
Heung-Min is into his third season in the Hamburg first team having moved to the Imtech Arena side back in 2008 and last term the adaptable forward, who can play out on the flank or in an orthodox striking role, became a regular in Thorsten Fink’s starting eleven. Liverpool could well do with attacking reinforcements as currently the Merseyside outfit lacks firepower and Rodgers has just two recognized senior strikers in his squad, Luis Suarez and unproven Italian Fabio Borini. Indeed this source appears to suggest that interest in Heung-Min stems from the failure of the former Roma man to swiftly adapt to life in the English top tier. Chances of coming 30%.

>>>> Dries Mertens, PSV Eindhoven Age 25, Belgium:

Both Liverpool & Tottenham are keen on pint sized PSV Eindhoven wide-man Dries Mertens. The Belgian international has been a huge success since his move to the Philips Stadion and is now attracting the attention of a number of interested parties.
Player Value:£ 10 million.
The pint sized attacker notched up 25 goals last term and has proven a constant threat to Eredivisie defences and he could well be just the type of player Brendan Rodgers could use to beef up his front-line. The Anfield boss has been forced into trusting to youth due to the lack of faith he has in the likes of Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson, and whilst this has led to both Suso and Raheem Sterling making instant impacts in the first team the Northern Irish manager wants to bring in experienced performers who can help unlock Premier League defences.
Tottenham would appear to have less of a need to boost their wide attacking areas given they have first choice regulars Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon to call upon and goals do not appear hard to come by for the North London club, they did after all score three away at Old Trafford last week and have clocked up three straight Premier League wins after a shaky start to the campaign. I would say a 70% chance, considering the fee, the player finishing profile and expected no competition from other clubs is signing.

>>>> Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Age 29, FC Schalke, Netherlands:

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar looks almost certain to be leaving Schalke at the end of the season, if general manager Horst Heldt is to be believed.
The Dutch striker boasts an impressive scoring record of 65 goals in 89 games for Schalke, and would be an excellent acquisition for any team. Huntelaar was reportedly tracked by Liverpool last season and given the Red’s desperation for a decent out-and-out striker, a January move cannot be ruled out.
Player Value: £14.5 million.
The fact that the Dutch international could be purchase ‘on the cheap’ due to being in the final year of his contract may also be a factor that works in Liverpool’s favour as it appears Rodgers will not be handed the kind of sums his predecessor was given for new additions.Currently Liverpool have just two recognised senior strikers, Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini, and though the likes of Adam Morgan and Samed Yesil are knocking on the door, the club sorely need proven striking options to call upon.
Huntelaar may well be tempted by a move to the Premier League having completed high profile moves to La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga in a career that has hit an individual high in Gelsenkirchen.

>>>>  Theo Walcott, Age 23, Arsenal, England:
The flying winger wants to stay at Arsenal but wants to play in a more central position, which rival clubs claim they can offer.Manchester City and Liverpool will seize on Theo Walcott’s plea to play up front to try to lure him away from Arsenal. Both Liverpool and City are ready to promise Walcott a role in a rotating strike-force that will give him more chances to score if his contract stand-off is not resolved.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Walcott should be given a chance to play in his preferred position as central striker.
Walcott’s current deal, runs out next summer. The 23-year-old wants to stay at Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger has hinted the club will sell him in January if no new contract has been agreed.

Player Value :  £ 15 million.
Theo Walcott appears to be attracting a number of prospective suitors as his Arsenal future continues to be in a great deal of doubt. Having not signed a new deal during the summer transfer window it was always likely that things would begin to get a little awkward for the winger at the Emirates Stadium club.
Of the two options cited by this source it may well be a move to Liverpool that tempts Walcott. After all interest from Premier League title holders Man City is all well and good but just how likely is it that the Arsenal man will get the striking role he desire at the Etihad Stadium. Roberto Mancini has the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli to call upon, all four are top quality strikers who has scored when called upon on a regular basis. Where would Theo Walcott fit in to that mix exactly?
Liverpool on the other hand have only recognised senior strikers, Luis Suarez and Fabio Borini, and the Italian new-boy hasn’t exactly shone since his move from Roma to Merseyside so in many ways a move to Anfield could well be the type of challenge that could suit the Arsenal man down to the ground.

>>>>  Gary Hooper, 24 year ,Celtic :

24 year old former Scunthorpe United man Hooper has been a big hit since his move to Parkhead two years ago and Bhoys boss Neil Lennon is keen to tie the marksman to a new long term contract but may struggle to do so if a bid from the Anfield side is forth-coming.Hooper netted 22 goals in his first season in Scotland and fired in 29 last term to help Celtic to an SPL title and he is a player Lennon will fight to keep hold of. There has been talk of a potential England call-up for the Harlow born striker and clearly a high-profile move South of the Border would help in pursuit of international recognition. If indeed Gary Hooper is refusing to sign a new deal it may well be with a view to attracting interest in his services from prospective Premier League sides interested in his services.
Hooper has netted eight goals in 14 matches this term, including two in Champions League action.Gary Hooper is a Liverpool target as Brendan Rodgers aims to add another forward to his squad in January. The Reds are in the middle of a striking crisis at the moment with Luis Suarez being the only fit option at the club. Fabio Borini broke his foot with Italy U21s earlier this week and Andy Carroll is on loan at West Ham.

>>>> David Villa, Age 30 yrs, Spain, Barcelona:
Even an unsuccessful bid for the Spanish international would at least be a statement of intent from the Merseyside club and perhaps David Villa would be tempted by a move to the Premier League, though one would imagine any chance of luring the experienced finisher would depend greatly on whether Liverpool are still struggling at the wrong end of the table by January.
Liverpool’s American owners didn’t offer a great deal in the way of transfer funds this summer but may feel the need to back their boss if the club continues to struggle and it would clearly take a significant bid to tempt Barcelona into selling David Villa.

>>>> DEMBA BA, NewCastle, 27 Yrs, Senegal :

The most likely player for Liverpool to sign during this January transfer. Liverpool are ready to turn to in-form Newcastle star Demba Ba in their search for a striker after being warned off top target Son Heung-min.The Liverpool manager knows Ba, 27, would fit easily into his side’s style of play and arrive with a proven goalscoring record in the Barclays Premier League.Securing the Senegal forward’s release from Newcastle should be straightforward, after it emerged a £7million get-out clause in his contract kicks in again in the January transfer window.

The 27 year old former Hoffenheim and West Ham man has apparently been upset at Alan Pardew’s insistence on using him in a wide attacking role to accommodate international team-mate Papiss Cisse and the fact that the Magpies boss chose to publicly reiterate that Ba’s release clause was very much still in operation is proof enough that the relationship between the player and the St James’ Park club are by no means ideal. The chances of Liverpool luring Demba Ba to Anfield depend a great deal on where the Merseyside club are in the Premier League table come January.
